Chiropractor

I have had good reason to see physiotherapists and chiropractors in the last four or five months. I first suffered a badly twisted ankle playing football (soccer to North Americans). There was achilles and malleolar damage which immobilised me for some time. The physio got me through that but was unable to return the ankle to its previous mobility.

I returned to soccer after about 2 months, only to suffer an MCL (the medial collateral ligament is on the inner side of the knee) tear a couple of weeks later. This time, armed only with scepticism, I took myself to see Dr Ian Boonstra a chiropractor at Peak Performance Chiropractic Health Centre – 4526 West 10th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V6R 2J1 Telephone 604-224-7325. Dr Boonstra was really hands-on with the knee and freed the surrounding area from the overprotective tenseness that was reducing mobility so badly.

Then he moved on to the previous injury and within 5 minutes had completely freed the immobility in the ankle. Something that the physio had failed to do in 6 weeks of treatment!

Another 6 weeks later the MCL is healing steadily and I have truly put the ankle injury behind me. Thanks Ian!

Never go to a jeweller for a new watch battery

Jewellers only tell you that your nice water resistant to 50m watch is no longer water resistant AFTER they have reassembled it. Granted, this is better than telling you the watch is fine, only to find out that it isn’t (which has hapened to me).

So go to a specialist. In Vancouver the specialist is Western watch & Clock Repairs, Suite 206-2233 Burrard Street, Vancouver, BC V6J 3H9. (This is actually between 6th & 7th Avenues and takes a bit of finding!) Telephone 604-662-8081.
